A Bot Beats World’s Top Professionals Dota 2 Players
The Pro Dota 2 Players has just defeated by a BOT? It seems impossible, but Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX made it ! This one of the most powerful people in the world founded an Artificial Intelligence company. He made a bot that can beat the world’s best Dota 2 Player, it’s called OpenAI.
As we can see from his official twitter account @elonmusk, “OpenAI first ever to defeat world’s best players in competitive eSports. Vastly more complex than traditional board games like chess & Go.”
Yesterday, during The International Dota 2 tournament, a pro player, Danil Ishutin, took the main stage to compete against Elon Musk’s Bot. Over a week, OpenAI has pitted their bot against a few of Dota 2’s top professionals. Including the top rated 1-vs-1 player in the world, Syed Sumail Hassan, and Artour Babaev.
Actually, Dendi (Danil Ihustin) was defeated by the bot twice in 1-vs-1 matches. Dendi lose the future matches with it, and expressed surprise that a bot could outplay a human. He said the bot “feels a little like [a] human, but a little like something else.”
Dendi later wrote in his twitter @DendiBoss. “Bot is really fun and challenging to play against :) I am sure it is possible to beat it . But it have no room for even slight mistakes.” This isn’t the first time a bot has made waves in the gaming world because there is an AI built by Microsoft earlier in this year.
“Would like to express our appreciation to Microsoft for use of their Azure cloud computing platform. This required massive processing power.” Elon Musk wrote in his twitter. Soon, openAI hopes to train some bots in the near future though that can compete and collaborate with human teams in full-scale Dota 2 5-vs-5 matches.
